Project: Topsail Beach Custom Home

When we were approached to build an Intracoastal Waterway “beach cottage” to replace an older structure that sustained heavy damage from Hurricane Florence, we weren’t expecting the 5,173 square foot three story home plan that we received. With an additional 1,400 square feet of porch space, this home represents the largest residential project in our portfolio to date.

Featuring four “towers”, the home strikes a balance of old school beach cottage and coastal modern style. All exterior components are weather durable - the brackets are pvc, from Fypon, the siding is a composite solid material similar to PVC, the porch columns and beams are all wrapped in fiber cement trim.

The interior design reflects the needs of the family - an older couple with two adult sons, with two floors providing separate kitchen and living areas for the sons respective families. Visitors to the project were prone to ask “is this a duplex?” - no, this is is a custom home designed specifically for one families’ needs.

To meet the demands of waterfront living (directly on the Intracoastal Waterway and walking distance to the beach access), the flooring throughout the home is a water-resistant LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank). All stairs are hardwood - red oak, stained to closely match the LVP flooring.

The pictures below represent the home just as the family was moving in, but we hope you can see the care and craftsmanship involved in the finishes of this home.
